Leandro Heriberto Caballero Fernandez, also known as Leandro H. Fernandez, (March 13, 1889 – 1948) was a Filipino historian who will serve as forerunner for later historians in the ranks of Teodoro Agoncillo and Gregorio F. Zaide. He is well known for being the first Filipino chairperson of the University of the Philippines Department of History.
The association launched its Silver Jubilee Year on June 12, 1980 with an exhibit on the past twenty-five years of the association which was set up on the second floor of the National Library on T.M. Kalaw St. in Ermita, Manila. Renowned historian and one of the founders of the association, Encarnacion Alzona, cut the ribbon to open the exhibit.
