Hubbard Park, located in the Hanging Hills of Connecticut, is a wooded, mountainous park located just outside the city center of Meriden, Connecticut.It comprises approximately 1,800 acres (7.3 km 2) of carefully kept woodlands, streams, dramatic cliff faces, flower gardens, and the James Barry bandshell and picnic spots, as well as its showpiece, Mirror Lake.
The Hanging Hills are a popular outdoor recreation resource. Hubbard Park features a bandshell and flower gardens and is the site of a variety of local festivals and concerts, most notably the spring Daffodil Festival. [9] A park road leads to Castle Craig Tower and is open from April through October from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Meriden industrialist Walter Hubbard donated the tower and the surrounding park, which a grateful Meriden named after him. The tower is one of the highlights of the 1,800-acre (7.3 km 2) park from its observation deck. Looking south one can observe Long Island Sound and on a clear day, the outline of Long Island itself.
The Farmington Canal-New Haven and Northampton Canal, Hubbard Park, and the Marion Historic District extend into other communities in Hartford County and appear in both lists.
