Kidderminster station opened with the extension of the Oxford, Worcester & Wolverhampton Railway from Worcester to Stourbridge on 1 May 1852. It became an important intermediate station on the line which became part of the West Midland Railway in 1860, which in turn amalgamated with the Great Western Railway and the South Wales Railway on 1 August 1863.

Bewdley Station in 1963 looking south. Bewdley railway station serves the town of Bewdley in Worcestershire, England. Until 2014, it was the administrative headquarters of the Severn Valley Railway, after which they were moved to Comberton Hill, Kidderminster. Bewdley is the principal intermediate station on the line.

The first railway station at Kidderminster was opened by the Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway (OW&WR) in 1852. It became an important intermediate station on the line which became part of the West Midland Railway in 1860. In turn, the WMR was absorbed intro the Great Western Railway (GWR) between 1863 and 1870.
Passenger services are provided by West Midlands Trains as part of their Birmingham to Hereford service. As of May 2023, off-peak, one train per hour runs between Birmingham New Street, Worcester and Hereford on this route, calling at University, Bromsgrove, Droitwich Spa, Worcester Foregate Street, Malvern Link, Great Malvern, Colwall and Ledbury on its way to Hereford, with most Worcester ...
The Severn Valley Railway was built between 1858 and 1862, and linked Hartlebury, near Droitwich Spa, with Shrewsbury, a distance of 40 miles (64 km).Important stations on the line were Stourport-on-Severn, Bewdley, and Arley within Worcestershire; and Highley, Hampton Loade, Bridgnorth, Coalport, Ironbridge and Broseley, Buildwas, Cressage, and Berrington in Shropshire.
