Re: square feet to cubic yard to cubic feet. by Robert Fogt on 05/03/05 at 01:59:11. To convert square foot to cubic foot, you multiply by the height. You did not list the height so we cant verify that part was correct. square feet * height in feet = cubic feet. cubic feet / 27 = cubic yard.
For example, if you want the rock layed 1 foot thick, you convert 1 foot to yards then multiply: 2000 square yards * (1/3) yards = 666.67 cubic yards. 666.67 cubic yards / 13 cubic yards/truck = 51.3 trucks. 666.67 cubic yards / 15 cubic yards/truck = 44.4 trucks. So you would need between 45 and 52 truck loads if you wanted the rock 1 foot thick.
Re: cubic feet to cubic yards by Robert Fogt on 04/13/05 at 14:45:04 15255 square foot * 1 foot = 15255 cubic foot Not sure where you got 45765 cubic feet, but it is not the correct result. There are 27 cubic feet in a cubic yard, so just divide by 27. 15255 cubic feet / 27 = 565 cubic yards
Thanks! :-/. Re: Square Feet to Yards. by Robert Fogt on 03/22/02 at 11:56:53. First lets figure out the square feet and cubic feet. 60 x 12 = 720 square feet. 60 x 12 x .5 = 360 cubic feet. The price: material = 360 x 5 = $1800.
Re: Sq ft. to cubic yards. by Robert Fogt on 02/16/05 at 18:06:44. You will need to know the height also. square feet * height in feet = cubic feet. cubic feet / 27 = cubic yards.
Lets say I have an 8-inch Asphalt paved roadway with a quantity shown as being 7,930 Tons. I believe I found a formula for arriving at tons from square feet, but not sure if it's correct or how to properly reverse it. The equation looks like this: ( ( (19826*9)* (8/12))*133.33)/2000 = 7930 TN. 19826 being ft2.
Re: Square yards to cubic feet. by Robert Fogt on 08/21/05 at 04:43:16. 517000 square yard = 4,653,000 square foot. 18 inches = 1.5 foot. 4,653,000 square foot * 1.5 foot = 6,979,500 cubic foot. Your result is incorrect because you swapped the 3 and 5 in the square yard to square foot conversion. Re: Square yards to cubic feet.
10,126 square yard = 91,134 square foot. 4 inches = 1/3 foot. 91,134 square foot * 1/3 foot = 30,378 cubic foot. Now just multiply the total cubic foot by the density of the substance, and you'll get the total pounds. 30,378 cubic foot * 45 pounds/cubic foot = 1,367,010 pounds. 1,367,010 pounds / 2000 = 683.505 U.S. ton.
So convert the thickness to feet. 4 inches = 1/3 feet The formula for volume is: Volume = Area * Height 2600 feet * 1/3 feet = 866.666667 cubic feet There are 27 cubic feet in a cubic yard, so: 866.666667 cubic feet / 27 = 32.098765 cubic yards So you'd need about 32 cubic yards of cement to cover your driveway 4 inches thick.
Re: Cubic feet to Square feet by Robert Fogt on 08/12/05 at 18:58:15 I looked up broken granite and it has a density of 103 pounds per cubic foot. For that you would need: 640 cubic foot * 103 pounds/cubic foot = 65920 pounds 65920 pounds / 2000 = 32.96 tons But its a fairly risky guess for the amount, since between 5" and 18" is a big difference.
