To format a link with the section sign (§) instead of a # (e.g. Page name § Section name rather than Page name#Section name), use the template {{Section link}} (or {}): {{Section link|Page name|Section name}} Note that Section names are entirely case sensitive, in contrast to article links, where the first letter is not case sensitive.
This template should always be substituted by prefixing "subst:" inside the template code. Thus use {{subst:Linking}} rather than {{Linking}}. You can indent the template, by typing :{{subst:Linking}}. The template does not include automatic signing. Please remember to sign by typing four tildes (~~~~) after the template syntax.
Furthermore, it is customary to write the name with double braces, like a template call, to emphasize that it names a template. For example, "Use the {} template to generate the trademark symbol." But don't go so far as to put a template name in the code font, to prevent confusion with an actual template call.
