De La Cruz were formed in mid-2011 by Australian guitarist and Kramer Guitars endorsee Casey Jones, [1] and Auckland, New Zealand born vocalist Roxxi Catalano. The band recruited Melbourne based drummer Lacey Lane, Brisbane Guitarist Rory Joy and local bass player Dennis Jaculli.
The band launched five dive bars in Gelsenkirchen, Seville, Munich, London and Paris during the tour, named the High Voltage Dive Bar. In 2022, the band announced more North American tour dates, with The Linda Lindas opening, as well as dates with Yo La Tengo [5] and dates in Asia, Europe and South America. On 18 July 2024, La Cruz releases his single Sahara, [7] which was said to be featured on an upcoming album. The accompanied music video was released simultaneously via YouTube. The second single, Fancy, was released on 26 September 2024 along with its music video. On October 2024, La Cruz releases his 2nd studio album, titled El Nene Vol.1. [8]
