Greensburg is a city in and the county seat of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States. [5] The population was 14,976 at the 2020 census.Located 30 miles (48 km) southeast of Pittsburgh, Greensburg is a part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.
Formed from Lancaster, Northumberland, and later Bedford counties, Westmoreland County was founded on February 26, 1773, and was the first county in the Pennsylvania colony whose entire territorial boundary was located west of the Allegheny Mountains.
Greensburg Train Station (101 Ehalt Street, at the corner of Harrison Avenue) was designed by architect William Cookman for the Pennsylvania Railroad in a style that has been described as Jacobean Revival.
