Sengme Oaks Water Park is a water park in Pauma Valley, California. [1] Formerly abandoned, it was renovated and remodeled by the La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians and was reopened in 2023. [ 2 ] It was the first water park in America on a Native reservation.
The Pauma and Yuima Reservation was established in 1872. [3] The main Pauma reservation and tribal headquarters are located in the Pauma Valley below Palomar Mountain. Two small and unpopulated tracts of land make up the Yuima reservation in the foothills of the Palomar Mountains east of the main reservation. [2]
A variant spelling was "Valle Forge." [1] Valley Forge had its start in 1854 when one Mr. Valle built a blast furnace at the town site. [2] A post office called Valley Forge was established in 1867, and remained in operation until 1900. [3]
