WoWs entire premise is derived from several alien species migrating to azeroth. They could do something similar to migrate us to a different land. Hopefully, this land would have an UR engine 5 update. A total revamp of the combat system so that all specs are viable and balanced within a few percentage points.
A realistic look requires way more computing power, and would limit the game’s target market. You can argue that the game has required increases in compute over the years, but it’s always targeted a very broad audience. Scenery without player character: 7/10. Scenery with player character: 4/10.
The only “wow 2” that will ever make sense is a wow “2.0” like what cata kind of was. We keep EVERYTHING and there’s a massive revamp around the rest of the game. That’s it. It’s the only answer. A brand new wow will flop harder in terms of player retention than any other recent blizzard launch. 4.
