The Williams Bridge station building was located at the southeast corner of the Gun Hill Road bridge. The Third Avenue Elevated passed over the station from 1920 to 1973.
In 1884, the Hebrew Orphan Asylum of New York was built on the south side of West 138th Street bounded by Hamilton Place to the west and Amsterdam Avenue to the east.
