Raposeira is a village and former civil parish in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, District of Faro, in Algarve region, Portugal. It is told that it is named after fox because raposa means fox in Portuguese. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Vila do Bispo e Raposeira. [1] It has an area of 25.71 km² and 441 inhabitants (2001).
The village is located in the Vale de Barão on the road between Budens and Barão de São João. It lies 5 km (3.1 mi) north of the fishing village of Burgau and 18 km (11 mi) from Vila do Bispo, its administrative centre.
