In 1942–1943 four groups of snipers from the Kremlin Regiment were sent to the Western and Volkhov Fronts. The snipers killed more than 1,200 German soldiers and officers, losing only 97 men in combat. [3] On February 23, 1944, the Kremlin Regiment was decorated with the Order of the Red Banner.
