Oakland County Football Club is an American soccer club based in Royal Oak, Michigan, located in the Detroit metropolitan area. Beginning with the 2020 season, they compete in USL League Two . The club previously competed in the United Premier Soccer League and Premier League of America.
The club also entered a team into the Ipswich & District League, winning the Senior Division in 1922–23. In 1934–35 the club reached the first round of the FA Cup for the first time but lost 3–0 at Bristol Rovers. In 1935 the club became founder members of the Eastern Counties League, [8] and shared the first championship with Lowestoft Town.
The club was established in 1968 as Ford Sports Daventry and were one of the youngest clubs in the United Counties Football League in which they played since joining in 1977. They started in the Central Northants Combination where they had success with both the 1st and 2nd teams, in those years they had to hire council pitches.
Royal Oak High School is a 2006 consolidation of former intra-city rivals Royal Oak George A. Dondero High School and Royal Oak Clarence M. Kimball High School.
