Bukit Merah, also known as Redhill, is a planning area and new town situated in the southernmost part of the Central Region of Singapore. The planning area borders Tanglin to the north, Queenstown to the west and the Downtown Core , Outram and Singapore River planning areas of the Central Area to the east.
The West Coast railway line was developed in stretches on June 1, 1885, with the opening of the Taiping–Port Weld Line, and 1932 when the line opened up to Tanjung Pagar, thus spanning the entire west coast of Peninsular Malaysia from Padang Besar on the Malaysia–Thai border to Singapore.
In July 2010, a 9.54-hectare mega-campus was opened, operating four schools - the School of Business and Services, School of Hospitality, School of Engineering and School of Info-Comm Technology.
