Colchester finally recorded their first victory of 2021, and their first since 8 December with a 2–1 home victory against Carlisle United on 2 March. The U's trailed 1–0 at the break to a Jon Mellish goal, Carlisle then had a penalty decision overturned early in the second half, before Colchester won and converted a penalty of their own.
