St. Anthony's Church and School is a Romanesque Revival style church and an accompanying school at 514 West Main Street and 103 North 6th Street in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Omaha.
The Immaculate Conception Church and School are located at 2708 South 24th Street in the South Omaha area of Omaha, Nebraska, United States. The 1926 church and its former school building, built in 1912, [2] were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. [1] Both buildings were designed by Omaha architect Jacob M. Nachtigall. [2]
The main part of the church, built in 1914, is about 155 by 43 feet (47 m × 13 m) in dimension. It was designed by Omaha architect J.M. Nachtigal and built by Henry Olson of Loup City. There is a 1921-built church school building, a 9-by-10-foot (2.7 m × 3.0 m) small chapel in the garden, and several shrines, fountains, and grottoes.
The complex includes a church, a friary, a convent, and two school buildings. The friary, built in 1886, was planned by the same Brother who designed the convent and school in 1901. In 1928 a second school building was designed by Omaha architect Jacob Nachtigall. [3]
The Gothic Revival church was built during 1896–1897. It was designed by architect Josef Schwartz, who also designed the similar-looking Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church about 10 miles (16 km) away in Bow Valley, Nebraska. [2] The rectory was built in 1919 and is a two-and-a-half-story Four Square house. [2]
