The following is a list of defunct airlines of the United States. However, some of these airlines have ceased operations completely, changed identities and/or FAA certificates and are still operating under a different name (e.g. America West Airlines changed to use the identity of US Airways in 2005 – which itself also changed identity to American Airlines in 2015).
JetSuiteX, Inc. (commonly known as JSX) is an American air carrier in the United States and Mexico that describes itself as a "hop-on jet service" [2] that operates point-to-point flights between and within Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Texas, and Utah in the United States and Baja California Sur in Mexico.
New routes to Salt Lake City and Southern California were added in the 1960s along with nonstop flights to Las Vegas and Reno aboard Douglas DC-9 jets by 1965. Bonanza merged with two other carriers to become Air West in 1968 and was changed to Hughes Airwest in 1970 adding several new routes, including service to Mexico, creating a hub at Phoenix.
Nonstop service to Las Vegas will also bring improved connectivity to other high demand western destinations including Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, San Diego and Seattle.
Its reservation system does not allow travelers to book multi-segment flights (for example, Oakland to Cleveland via Phoenix even though the airline operates both sectors). [ 1 ] List
