This version was initiated by João Ferreira de Almeida (1628 –1691). Born in Torres de Tavares, Portugal, he moved in 1642, at the age of 14, first to the Netherlands , and then to Malacca [ 2 ] in Malaysia , which had been a Portuguese possession from 1511 but had fallen to the Dutch in 1641.
