The Johnson-Neel House is a private historic house near Mooresville, North Carolina. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. [1] It apparently was built in the 1826-1835 period, probably before 1830. Its construction is attributed to master builder Jacob Stirewalt.
The mansion was built in 1832 for Morgan Fitzpatrick, a farmer who owned 150 slaves by 1860. [2] His son, Samuel W. Fitzpatrick, served in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War of 1861–1865, and subsequently inherited the farm. [2]
