That means you can run into battle as a Dire Wolf, get beaten up quickly to summon your Faithful goon squad, then drop a Bear Totem and calmly extricate yourself.

Druid's don't do well with multiclassing, and Shepherd Druid's specifically want to get to level 5 and 7 ASAP. You should already be the MVP of the team with all of your healing and Bear Spirit's THP every short rest. You'll be dealing the highest damage of your party once you reach lvl 5-6.
Shepherd is much better at playing ranged than Stars while healing effectively via Spirit + Cure Wounds through Wild Companion or Healing Word (a bit ironic as Stars does get Guiding Bolt, a spell with a great range). This can be very helpful for maintaining concentration. EDIT: Dreams is fine.
