ATSC 3.0 is the new digital over-the-air broadcast standard that will be rolling out in North America over the next few years. The significant advantages over the current standard (ATSC 1.0) will be the ability to have more channels on a specific frequency, more than 6 audio channels (currently 5.1 is the max), and will support 4K video.
First, in case you weren't aware, the ATSC 3.0 standard requires using Dolby AC-4 as the audio codec. There's only one Roku that supports that codec, which is the Ultra 4800. Any other 4K Roku will display the video but no audio is available. On other devices, Silicon Dust offers an online transcoding function, and as such will output Dolby AC ...
Most of the ATSC 3.0 are encrypted now, so I can no longer get those stations until the drm issue is resolved. There is no audio using the Roku Ultra LT on HDHomeRun on ATSC 1.0 or 3.0. I've tried all the fixes: reset, audio settings, reboot, unplug, HDMI, etc. It does not seem like this model will ever support ATSC 3.0.
Welcome to the Roku Community and thanks for inquiring about the latest Roku branded TVs. Please be aware that Roku branded TVs have ATSC 1.0 OTA tuners built in. Hope that information helps! If you have any other inquiries in the future, please don't hesitate in posting in the Roku Community again! Thanks, Danny.
Otherwise, Roku should develop an interface with the TV mfgrs to integrate the TV's OTA into the Roku interface (like Roku TVs). Roku needs to make a stick device that includes an ATSC 1.0 and ATSC 3.0 tuner. Allowing the stick to integrate and control Over-the-Air (OTA) channels similar to a Roku TV makes channel surfing significantly easier ...
On mine they are all channels numbered 100 or higher. ATSC 3.0 uses AC-4 audio, which is probably not supported by your current devices. The Roku Ultra 4800/4802 can decode AC-4 into AC-3, which your devices should play without issue. I will say that Silicon Dust has publicly said they aren't making any serious effort to improve their channel ...

Sometime in the last couple of days, the Tegna station KING-TV in Seattle switched to atsc 3.0 and reworked its subchannels radically, increasing from the original two subchannels to seven, many of them in full 1080. There hasn't been any press release as of yet, and there's been nothing as to the ...
Are you watching an ATSC 3.0 channel (this is the next gen of digital TV, and the channel number is likely above 100 (mine start at 104). ATSC 3.0 is only available on the HDRomeRun Flex 4K tuner to my knowledge. But ATSC 3.0 uses AC-4 as the audio codec, and the only Roku players that can decode that is the 4800/4802 Ultra.
