    While not strictly speaking an EIC procured musket, Harding (vol. II) includes the India Ships Store Musket as being a type mandated and inspected by the Company without actual ownership by the EIC. These were used aboard the Indiaman fleet of privately held ships that transported the majority of the EIC goods to and from the East.

    This is an Nepalese Pattern F with EIC lock and other parts. Douglas is correct. All Type (A-F) Muskets were made by the British Gun Industry. They were made of walnut and copiously marked with inspection stamps, contractor and sub-contractor markings, Company Logo and usually cartouches on the right butt-stock.
