Nilphamari was previously under the Rajshahi division. The Nilphamari subdivision was established in 1875. [6] It was a subdivision of the Rangpur District. It was turned into a district in 1984. The district consists of 6 upazilas, 4 municipalities, 60 union parishads, 370 mouzas and 378 villages.

The municipality of Nilphamari was incorporated in 1972. Before that, Nilphamari Town Committee was formed in 1964. At present, Nilphamari Municipality is divided into 15 wards. The area of the Nilphamari Municipality will be 42.70 sqkm (present area: 27.50 sqkm, Ongoing expansion: 15.2 sqkm) if ongoing expansion work completed . [6] [7]

Saidpur (Bengali: সৈয়দপুর) is a city of Nilphamari district in Rangpur Division of Bangladesh. The city has become a very important communication hub for ad-joining major district headquarters. Saidpur Airport is one of the domestic airports in Bangladesh.
The upazila was named after Prince Kishore Chandro, son of Horish Chandro (1800–1900). Kishorganj was known for Nil cultivation while under British ruling. It was part of Nilphamari Mohokuma of Rangpur District. When Nilphamari became separate district, it became a Upazila of that district in 1983.
Saidpur (Bengali: সৈয়দপুর) is an upazila of Nilphamari District in the Division of Rangpur, Bangladesh. Saidpur thana, later turned into an upazila, was established in 1915. [1] Before 1870, Saidpur was a Bazar under Daroani thana of Rangpur district. It was under Nilphamari Sadar thana of Nilphamari Mohokuma between 1870 and 1915.
