The 25th World Scout Jamboree was the 25th edition of the World Scout Jamboree, the biggest event on scout movement, that happens every four years in a different country, [1] held from 1–12 August 2023 at Saemangeum, North Jeolla, South Korea. It was hosted by Korea Scout Association with the theme, "Draw Your Dream". [2]
Jamboree on the Air, usually referred to as JOTA, is an international Scouting and Guiding activity held annually on the third full weekend in October. The event was first held in conjunction with the fiftieth anniversary of Scouting in 1957, and was devised by radio amateur operator Leslie R. Mitchell who used the callsign G3BHK.
The site is approximately 1200 km away from Fukushima, the area affected by the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, so the inspections have concluded that the country is safe for hosting the Jamboree. Members from the World Organization of the Scout Movement also concluded that the site location is safe. [4]

The Michigan International Camporee provides an opportunity for local and international Scouts to attend a Jamboree at a fraction of the cost of traditional International Scout Jamborees. One patrol of Scouts from any country outside the U.S. and Canada may attend free of charge.
