The Cambridge capital controversy, sometimes called "the capital controversy" [1] or "the two Cambridges debate", [2] was a dispute between proponents of two differing theoretical and mathematical positions in economics that started in the 1950s and lasted well into the 1960s.
The Journal of Economic History is an academic journal of economic history which has been published since 1941. [2] Many of its articles are quantitative, often following the formal approaches that have been called cliometrics or the new economic history to make statistical estimates.
Arthur Cecil Pigou (/ ˈ p iː ɡ uː /; 18 November 1877 – 7 March 1959) was an English economist.As a teacher and builder of the School of Economics at the University of Cambridge, he trained and influenced many Cambridge economists who went on to take chairs of economics around the world.
John Maynard Keynes was born in Cambridge, England, in June 1883 to an upper-middle-class family. His father, John Neville Keynes , was an economist and a lecturer in moral sciences at the University of Cambridge and his mother, Florence Ada Keynes , a local social reformer.

He also wrote papers dealing with other areas of economic theory, such as monetary economics or Ricardian equivalence and its relation to optimal growth.
