Bring the Family is the eighth studio album from American singer-songwriter John Hiatt. It was his first album to chart on the Billboard 200, and featured his first single entry on the mainstream rock chart with "Thank You Girl". It features Ry Cooder on guitar, Nick Lowe on bass guitar and Jim Keltner on drums.
Following Bring the Family, Hiatt had a string of nine straight studio albums which hit the Billboard 200. In 1988, he returned to the studio with Glyn Johns producing [7] to record Slow Turning, which was his first album to hit the upper half of the Billboard 200. [1]
The LP's first single "Bring the Family Back" failed to chart but a 12" disco version did reach No. 90 on the Soul chart and No. 51 on the Dance chart. "False Faces" was also released in both single and 12" disco versions but neither charted.
