Re: IF time is between two times return value. Problem solved: With the =Now () formula you are getting back the current date and time. The manually entered times represent the time on 1/1/1900. Change your =Now () formula to. =Now ()-Int (Now ()) Then it will return the time without the date portion and your comparison will work.

I'm trying to find an elegant (less caveman) way of calculating the overlap between two time ranges. For example: No overlap, partial overlap, full overlap (enclosed) - ie returning just the time. So if range 1 = 10:00 to 12:00 and range 2 - 14:00 to 18:00 there will be zero minutes overlap
Re: Time Between Two Dates and Times Thanks, I was worried this self-taught Excel amateur really blew it. All of my calculations are based on the difference between two cells in the date time format, is in days with the decimal portion representing hours, minutes, and seconds.

I have calculated the distance moved between each location (distance between Id 1 and 2, 2 and 3, 3 and 4, and so forth). I would like to associate each calculated distance with an average time so that the distance calculated between Id 1 and 2 is associated with the midpoint between times 01:00 and 14:00 (07:30).
If you are converting the calcs to text, you will have a hard time working out the average (not impossible, but unnecessarily overly complex) If you leave the times AS times, you can then use a regular AVG formula to do the calc. 1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button) 2.
Re: Calculating time difference over midnight! Here is how I do it to get over the midnight as well as being able to add a meal break. Attachment 662047. Cell "G" is calculating the hours: = (D2-C2)+ (B2-A2)+ (D2<A2) Cell "E" is converting the calculation in "G" to a decimal number: =G2*24.

What are the two dates/times you want the elapsed time for? Your formula will look something like. =A2+B2-A1-B1. assuming you want to take the date/time in row 2 and get the time elapsed from the date/time in row 1. Use the custom format. d h. and the result will be elapsed days and hours. [h] will give total hours.
