The bottom screen would have two buttons that make use of the touch screen. The top button displays the player and the character they were playing as when the unlock requirements were met. I thought it'd be cool if players could choose who would fight the new character, rather than it just being Player 1 or the winner of the last match by default.
After playing them several times, something really stands out… All the other players are using real first names as their screen names. Names like John, Arianna, Evan…. None of these look like nicknames or creative usernames I would expect. Now I’m wondering if these are even real people or just computer players.
