Lotte Binder (27 October 1880 – 11 August 1930) was an Austro-Hungarian, later Romanian teacher and women's rights activist, belonging to the Transylvanian Saxon community. As she had no access to secondary schools, her father provided her training to pass the teacher qualification examination at the local boys' school in 1904.
She led the umbrella organization until 1925, when she was succeeded by Lotte Binder. [16] [17] Elected as a member of parliament in 1920, Zay also served as a member of the District Committee for the People's Council of Burzenland. She was officially named director of the KBA-AB in 1922, holding the post until she retired in 1927. [3]
Wiemeler was born on 3 October 1895 in Ibbenbüren, Germany, his father was a bookbinder. [2] [3] He studied at University of Fine Arts of Hamburg (Hamburg Landeskunstschule), under teachers Franz Weisse, Anton Kling, and with Carl Otto Czeschka. [2]
The Guild of Women-Binders was a British organization founded to promote and distribute the work of women bookbinders at the turn of the 20th century. It was founded by Frank (Francis) Karslake in 1898, and disbanded in 1904. It helped sell bindings produced by women binders already practicing, and instituted training programs to teach other women.
Binder was born Marianne Keller on 15 June 1958 in Baden, Switzerland to Anton Keller, a teacher who also served on the National Council (Switzerland), and writer and author Rosemarie Keller (née Borner). She has three brothers. [7]
