Banner Lakes at Summerset State Park is a 222-acre (90 ha) state park in Warren County, Iowa, United States, near the city of Indianola.Opened in 2004, the park is located on the site of a 1930s coal mine; its two namesake lakes were formed from the remnants of the mine.
The city of Indianola acquired the first 560 acres (230 ha) in 1934, and it was known initially as Indianola State Park. [4] From 1934 to 1937 Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Company 769 and a side camp built facilities in the park. They constructed the dam and reservoir from April 1934 to July 1935.

In Indianola, the trailhead is located at the 300 block of East 5th street, at the junction of the Summerset trail and the 1.6-mile (2.6 km) long McVay Trail which ends at Pickard Park in Indianola.
