Ben Hawes Golf Course and Park (formerly Ben Hawes State Park) is a park located just outside Owensboro, Kentucky, in Daviess County. On 16 July 2014 the Department of Transport announced the go-ahead for the villages of Leeming Bar and Aiskew and the town of Bedale in North Yorkshire to be bypassed. [8] The bypass, which opened to traffic on 11 August 2016, [9] leaves the old A684 just north of St Gregory's Church in Bedale and runs eastwards for 3 miles (4.8 km) [10] to a point about 0.6 miles (1 km) east of Leeming Bar.
For many years the locomotive has been on display at the Dales countryside Museum at Hawes at Wensleydale. It carries the number 67345 as this was the number of the NER G5 class locomotive which hauled the last passenger train out of Hawes station in 1959. The last freight train used the line in 1964 after which the line was lifted. [6]
