Philosophy for Children, sometimes abbreviated to P4C, is a movement that aims to teach reasoning and argumentative skills to children. [1] There are also related methods sometimes called "Philosophy for Young People" or "Philosophy for Kids".
Questions: Philosophy for Young People is a peer-reviewed academic journal sponsored by the Philosophy Learning and Teaching Organization (PLATO), the American Philosophical Association, and York College of Pennsylvania. It publishes short articles, discussions, drawings, and other writings by school students interested in philosophical issues.
Lipman served in the United States Army during the Second World War, with campaigns in France, Germany, and Austria. The novel was Lipman's first, and inaugurated the educational movement known as Philosophy for Children. It was first published in 1971 and revised in 1974. [2] The book deals with everyday situations which a group of children encounter. These situations then become the substance for mental engagement and thinking about thinking.
