The university became the University of Botswana and Swaziland (UBS) after the National University of Lesotho was established on October 20, 1975. The ultimate end of the UBS was in the 1981–1982 academic year, when the University of Swaziland and the University Botswana were established independently.

The centre was handed to the government of Botswana and managed by the Department of Veterinary Services of the Ministry of Agriculture and it was renamed Meat Inspection Training Centre (MITC). [5] On 1 April 2012, the Institution was taken over by Botswana College of Agriculture (BCA) now BUAN.

In 1985, she took up employment with the University of Botswana National Institute of Research as a data administrator. The job required her to computerize the university's documentation. Many university staff members, both academic and non-academic, needed to be trained to use the computer. She served in that role until 1993.
