El Paso Community College (EPCC) is a community college in El Paso, Texas. EPCC operates five campuses in the El Paso area, as well as courses offered at nearby Fort Bliss . As defined by the Texas Legislature , the official service area of EPCC is all of El Paso and Hudspeth counties in Texas .
EPCC was established in 1990, following on from the earlier Edinburgh Concurrent Supercomputer Project and chaired by Jeffery Collins from 1991. [4] From 2002 to 2016 EPCC was part of the University's School of Physics & Astronomy, becoming an independent Centre of Excellence within the University's College of Science and Engineering in August 2016.
In 1998, TTUHSC El Paso celebrated 25 years serving the El Paso community. The following year, then-Texas Tech System Chancellor John T. Montford shared with the Board of Regents a vision for a full-fledged four-year medical school in El Paso to help alleviate a severe shortage of physicians in the area.
