Units in Warmaster must be activated and moved by rolling against the command value of a character; units can be activated multiple times, though the roll becomes progressively more difficult. If a commander fails his activation roll, he can no longer command units in that turn. [ 6 ]
Players can command units ranging from a company up to a division. For Blitzkrieg Commander III, this was standardised to one unit = one platoon. A typical game lasts 2 or 3 hours. BlitzkriegCommander is derived from the Warmaster family of rules and uses activation rolls to simulate command and control. [1]
The number of casualties is simply the number of members of a unit who are not available for duty. For example, during the Seven Days Battles in the American Civil War (June 25 to July 1, 1862) there were 5,228 killed, 23,824 wounded and 7,007 missing or taken prisoner for a total of 36,059 casualties.
