Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education (UPBTE or BTEUP) is the board which provides technical education to students in Uttar Pradesh, India.It was set up in May 1958 as 'State Board Of Technical Education and Training', the name was changed to 'Board Of Technical Education' in 1962.
It is affiliated to Board of Technical Education Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh (BTEUP) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, India. Government Polytechnic Lucknow located at Polytechnic Chauraha , Faizabad Road (Near Indira Nagar Metro Station).

It was established as the Uttar Pradesh Technical University through the Government of Uttar Pradesh on 8 May 2000. To reduce workload and to ensure proper management, the university was bifurcated into separate universities, Gautam Buddh Technical University (GBTU) and Mahamaya Technical University (MTU), with effect from 1 May 2010. The university was established in 1975 as Rohilkhand University vide the Uttar Pradesh Universities (Re-enactment and Amendment) Act, 1974 and it started functioning from 15 February 1975. [1] It got the status of a residential university in 1985, when four more departments were increased. [2] In 1987, three more departments were added. [2]
