Tavern on the Green is an American cuisine restaurant in Central Park in Manhattan, New York City, near the intersection of Central Park West and West 66th Street on the Upper West Side. The restaurant, housed in a former sheepfold , has been operated by Jim Caiola and David Salama since 2014.
The famed Manhattan restaurant Tavern on the Green is located off of West 66th Street, at Central Park West. 66th Street is the site of the Manhattan New York Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The design for the 38-story structure included retail space at ground level, a church center on lower floors and 325 apartments.
In July 2013, Marea was the restaurant chosen for the Financial Times column "Lunch with the FT" with the guest being Ron Perelman. [9] In 2016, Anthony Bourdain named it as one of his favorite places to dine in New York City. [10]
