AutoNation is an American automotive retailer based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which provides new and pre-owned vehicles and associated services in the United States. [6] The company was founded by Wayne Huizenga in 1996, starting with twelve AutoNation locations, and now has more than 300 retail outlets.
Columbus Park Crossing features a variety of national retailers, restaurants, and specialty local stories, as well as a movie theatre. Planning for the shopping center began in 2000, and required the Columbus City Council to rezone the land, which was then restricted to residential use, to allow commercial development.
Similar to its edge city neighbor north of Atlanta, Perimeter Center, Northlake's history began with the construction of a shopping mall, Northlake Mall, in 1971. Both the area and mall are named after North Lake, an actual lake within the community. Northlake is located northeast of Atlanta, south of the junction of I-285 and I-85.

The sole current anchor store is Macy's (formerly Davison's) which will close in early 2025. [3] Former anchors include JCPenney, Kohl's, and Sears.Kohl's closed in 2016; [4] its location was originally Atlanta's fourth Parisian in 1994, after both Town Center at Cobb and Phipps Plaza in 1992 and Gwinnett Place Mall in 1993.
Originally and formerly called North DeKalb Center, the mall was designed by Barrett + Associates, Architects, and first opened July 29, 1965, with fifty-four stores; original anchor stores included Atlanta-based department store Rich's, and a Woolworth dime store.
