They impressed Philips with CD-i games with colorful sprites, like the shooter Alien Gate. The Vision Factory was the label under which the SPC games were released. Their most famous game is probably the puzzle game Dimo's Quest , that was originally developed by Boeder Games / Infernal Byte Systems for the Amiga and was ported by SPC to CD-i.
Alien Gate was developed by Dutch studio SPC Vision and was primarily designed by Stefan Posthuma. [2] [3] The code and graphics were all written using the Atari ST. [4]The project began as a demo provided to publisher Philips who were so impressed that they commissioned a full release as well as a five-game contract with the developer.
