Bambi is a 1942 American animated drama film produced by Walt Disney Productions and released by RKO Radio Pictures.Loosely based on Felix Salten's 1923 novel Bambi, a Life in the Woods, the production was supervised by David D. Hand, and was directed by a team of sequence directors, including James Algar, Bill Roberts, Norman Wright, Sam Armstrong, Paul Satterfield, and Graham Heid.
It follows a mother and her son who become hunted by Bambi after his own mother's death. First announced in November 2022 as a Bambi-based horror film, the film was subsequently revealed to be set in the TCU shared continuity. It started production in London on 6 January 2024 and wrapped twenty days later.
It takes place between the death of Bambi's mother and Bambi shown as a young adult buck, and shows the relationship between Bambi and his father, the Great Prince of the Forest.
