Johor Bahru District. The Johor Bahru District is a district located in the southern part of Johor, Malaysia. It covers an area of 1,063.97km 2 and has a population of 1.8 million, making it the second largest district in Malaysia by population. The district capital is Johor Bahru City and the administrative capital is Iskandar Puteri City.

It is the largest district in Johor which covers 18.34% of the state area. [ 6 ] Main rivers that pass through the district are Johor River , Lebam River , Santi River , Sedili Besar River and Sedili Kecil River .

In 2006 Batu Pahat surpassed Muar to become the second largest urban area in Johor and by 2012 Batu Pahat was the 16th largest urban area in Malaysia in population. Chinese make up the majority of the population at 62% followed by Malays at 36% and Indians at 2%.
