4S Ranch is an unincorporated, master-planned community in the North County area of San Diego County, California. [1] It is located about 25 miles (40 km) north of downtown San Diego and 13 miles (21 km) east of the Pacific Ocean, just outside the incorporated city limits of San Diego.

The Holly SS Ranch Barn, or Double S Ranch Barn, at 407 West Vinson in Holly, Colorado, was built in 1879. It is located south of the railroad tracks on the south side of Holly. It was built for rancher Hiram S. Holly who settled in the area which later became the town of Holly in 1871. [2]

Cherokee Ranch, in Douglas County, Colorado near Sedalia, has been a purebred cattle ranch since 1954, including raising Santa Gertrudis cattle. Josiah Belden (1815–1892) arrived in California with the Bartleson-Bidwell Party in 1841. Belden, a naturalized Mexican citizen, received the four square league Rancho Barranca Colorado grant in 1844. Belden did not live on the land grant, and in 1846, gave William B. Ide ownership to half of the rancho, in exchange for Ide operating the ranch.
