The Texas Longhorns football team competes as part of the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), representing the University of Texas in the Big 12 Conference. Since the establishment of the team in 1893, Texas has appeared in 62 bowl games with a record of 33-27-2.
Texas finished the regular season 11-1, 7-1 in SEC play. The Longhorns went on to play in the SEC Championship, losing to Georgia 19-22 in overtime.
