San La Muerte (Saint Death) is a skeletal folk saint that is venerated in Paraguay, Argentina (mainly in the province of Corrientes but also in Misiones, Chaco and Formosa) and southern Brazil (specifically in the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul).

Christ Crucified (Spanish: Cristo crucificado) is a 1780 oil-on-canvas painting of the crucifixion of Jesus by Spanish Romantic painter Francisco de Goya. He presented it to the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando as his reception piece as an academic painter. It now forms part of the collection of the Prado Museum, in Madrid.

Published in Sur in May 1942, it was included in the 1944 collection Ficciones. It was translated into English by Anthony Kerrigan and published in New Mexico Quarterly (Autumn 1954).
The Iglesia de la Santa Cruz is a parish church in Zona Romántica, Puerto Vallarta, in the Mexican state of Jalisco. It is dedicated to the holy cross, whose feast is on 3 May with a celebration named Fiesta de las Cruces. The holy cross is also the patron saint of the masons, who go on pilgrimage to the church on that day.
