Mercyhurst Preparatory School, commonly called Mercyhurst Prep or MPS, is a Catholic, coeducational secondary school located in Erie, Pennsylvania. In the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie, the school is located behind Mercyhurst University on East Grandview Boulevard. It is a member of the International Baccalaureate program.
The Board of Trustees of Mercyhurst University appointed Michael T. Victor as the 12th president of Mercyhurst University on May 19, 2015. Victor had served as president of Lake Erie College since 2006. Victor served as dean of the Walker School of Business at Mercyhurst from 2002 to 2006. He took office on August 3, 2015. Nestled within Mercyhurst College's Department of History, RIAP was the first non-governmental initiative of its kind in the United States. The program began in 1992 with only 14 students, but the competence of graduates eventually attracted the attention of the U.S. Intelligence Community. [3] [4]
After graduation, Manchel served as an assistant coach at Slippery Rock for two seasons before joining the coaching staff at Yale under Dick Kuchen for five seasons. The Mercyhurst Athletic Center (often nicknamed The MAC) is a multi-purpose arena in Erie, Pennsylvania, USA. It is home to the Mercyhurst Lakers men's and women's basketball , volleyball and wrestling teams.
Since the program's inception in 1981, Mercyhurst football had played their home games at Erie Veterans Memorial Stadium.However, when the venue was unavailable for the 1996 season, Mercyhurst officials decided this was the time to accomplish their long-term vision of an on-campus football stadium, thereby building Saxon Stadium.
