The Grove Resort & Water Park (also known as The Grove Resort or simply The Grove) is a resort and water park in Winter Garden, Florida, United States, located west of the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando. The resort property features the Surfari Water Park, multiple restaurants, a grocery market, a spa, and an amusement arcade.
The resort opened as The Royal Inn on October 1, 1972. It was the first non-Disney operated hotel to open at Walt Disney World. The land the hotel sits on is owned by Disney. In the 1970s, the hotel's name was changed to the Hotel Royal Plaza. [5] Orlando time share developer David A. Siegel bought the Royal Plaza for $12 million in 1992. [6]

The 23-acre (9.3 ha) hotel, which opened on March 10, 1983, is among the ten resorts that make up the Disney Springs Resort Area. It is one of seven resorts in the Disney Springs Resort Area not owned or operated by Disney. The hotel is connected to Disney Springs by pedestrian skybridges, as well as a shuttle service to all the Disney Parks. [1]
