Rich Robinson announced the formation of the Magpie Salute in October 2016. In addition to Robinson, the group features UK singer John Hogg, former Black Crowes guitarist Marc Ford and bassist Sven Pipien, as well as keyboardist Matt Slocum, drummer Joe Magistro, and vocalists Adrien Reju and Katrine Ottosen from Robinson's solo band.

Richard Spencer Robinson (born May 24, 1969) is an American musician and founding member of the rock and roll band the Black Crowes. Along with older brother Chris Robinson , Rich formed the band in 1984 (originally called Mr. Crowes Garden ) while the two were attending Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia.
Both of these songs also appeared in Robinson's 2004 tour setlists, but much more sporadically than "Stand Up." Also worth noting is that the version of "Words of the Chosen" included on the Paper reissue is an instrumental, while on the 2004 tour it included vocals.
