The Hillsborough River is a river located in the state of Florida in the United States. It arises in the Green Swamp near the juncture of Hillsborough , Pasco and Polk counties, and flows 60 miles (97 km) [ 3 ] through Pasco and Hillsborough Counties to an outlet in the city of Tampa on Hillsborough Bay .
Hillsborough River State Park is one of the eight original Florida State Parks created in 1938. The park was originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps [4] (CCC), and some of the original structures remain, including the buildings that now house the administrative offices and Interpretive Center, the suspension bridge, and a section of fence.
