Morecambe is a seaside town in the City of Lancaster, Lancashire, England. It contains 43 buildings that are recorded in the National Heritage List for England as designated listed buildings . Of these, two are at Grade II*, the middle grade, and the others are at Grade II, the lowest grade.
Poulton-le-Sands is one of three small villages that combined to create Morecambe, Lancashire, England, the other two being Torrisholme and Bare. A local board of health was established in 1852, which, taking its name from Morecambe Bay , became the borough of Morecambe in 1902.
The station was opened as Poulton-le-Sands on 8 August 1864 by the London and North Western Railway; it was renamed Bare Lane on 31 October 1864.
