List of free analog and digital electronic circuit simulators, available for Windows, macOS, Linux, and comparing against UC Berkeley SPICE.The following table is split into two groups based on whether it has a graphical visual interface or not.
Algodoo - 2D physics simulator focused on the education market that is popular with younger users. Simcenter Amesim - a platform to analyze multi-domain, intelligent systems and predict and optimize multi-disciplinary performance. Developed by Siemens Digital Industries Software. ANSYS - engineering simulation.
The following are flight simulator software applications that can be downloaded or played for free. Several items are outdated. Please notice 'free' is not the same as open source. Free games may have limited options or include advertisements.
DVOR (Doppler VOR) ground station, collocated with DME. On-board VOR display with CDI MCT DVOR, Manchester Airport, United Kingdom.. Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Range Station (VOR) [1] is a type of short-range VHF radio navigation system for aircraft, enabling aircraft with a VOR receiver to determine the azimuth (also radial), referenced to magnetic north, between the aircraft to/from ...
When an HSI is tuned to a VOR station, left and right always mean left and right and TO/FROM is indicated by a simple triangular arrowhead pointing to the VOR. If the arrowhead points to the same side as the course selector arrow, it means TO , and if it points behind to the side opposite the course selector, it means FROM .
The most well known analog simulator is SPICE. Probably the best known digital simulators are those based on Verilog and VHDL . Some electronics simulators integrate a schematic editor , a simulation engine, and an on-screen waveform display (see Figure 1), allowing designers to rapidly modify a simulated circuit and see what effect the changes ...
The CDI was designed to interpret a signal from a VOR, LDA, or ILS receiver. These receivers output a signal composed of two AC voltages. When used with a VOR, a converter decodes this signal, and, by determining the desired heading or radial from a resolver connected to the OBS knob, provides a 150mV control signal to drive the CDI needle left or right.
The ADMS translator supports it for open-source simulators like Xyce and ngSPICE. A more complete implementation is now available through OpenVAF. The post-SPICE simulator Gnucap was designed in accordance with the standard document, and its support for Verilog-AMS for both the simulator level and the behavioral modeling is growing.
